Why is this important?

HKUST understands the importance of motivation through the never-ending quest for truth and knowledge. The Dream Chaser Scholarship will be offered to students who are from less-privileged socio-economic backgrounds, but with a yearning desire to strive for excellence, or students who endeavor to overcome special difficulties to fulfill their aspirations, or who work extra hard in the pursuit of success. Through this scholarship we hope to cultivate the culture of mutual aid on campus.

Why Pledge?

Students who are currently studying in HKUST, will recognize your generous act of helping students in need and extending the education opportunities. Donors will support students who require financial aid, enabling them to fully experience their university life. As recognition of your contribution, your name will appear on this page under the tab "Supporters". If you donate over HK$100,000, your name will appear on our Scholarships and Financial Aid Office  (https://sfao.ust.hk/page.php?i=25) and Development and Alumni Office website  (https://giving.ust.hk/en/honor.php)  and would be seen by all those in the HKUST community through mass email.

The Dream Chaser Scholarships will be offered to students with certain financial needs who fall into one of the following categories:

  1. Ethnic minorities;
  2. From single-parent families, parentless, or homeless;
  3. New immigrants to Hong Kong who have stayed in Hong Kong for less than 7 years
  4. The first university student amongst 3 generations of the family
